I am a newbie to the GS make. I have been riding a DRZ400sm for quite sometime now and can tune the BSR36 carb for all conditions, but these BSR34's are kicking me in the pants.
Symptom
From idle to 4000 RPM the motor will bog. It takes chopping of the throttle to get the RPM's up. once over 4000 it runs like a top. I thought it might be a air flow issue but I removed the snorkles and the top of the air box to no avail. I did not remove the air filter though.
I have cleaned the carbs by removing the main jet and the jet that is on the intake side of the carb. Sprayed the slides and floats and all of the moving parts. Looks almost new now. There is what appears to be a pilot jet that does not have a flat head screw slot and I was not able to remove it without scoring it up so I just forced carb cleaner thru it. If there is a trick to getting these out for cleaning please let me know. I have also checked the plugs and they are alittle on the lean side but thats usually how suzuki runs the stock setup.
If this was my DRZ I would adjust the fuel mixture screw and the pilot jets appropriatly but I have not been able to locate the screw on these carbs and don't want to start changing jets until I know if there is one or not.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading.
