new Intake Rubbers...(With pics)

I went to sync the carbs..and found that the intake rubbers were banged up dot com...cracked..leakin and o rings..I actually thought that they were metal..they were very hard..and very brittle.

I know we all like pics..so..

I can only agree, I thought mine were passable until my new ones arrived the other day... the old ones (on the right) had actually shrunk and even though they were still somewhat pliable, it's night and day when fitting the carbs compared to the new ones:

Hi Guys,

I was looking to replace the intake manifolds on my 1980 GS450L. They're in similar condition to those old ones in the picture, if not worse. My problem is I can't find who sells these. I was browsing bike bandit, but am not sure if the part in the schematic matches what I am looking for. Where did you buy these? What are some good online parts stores to buy these?

#27 is the intake

The only real sign of wear besides the o-ring being flat is around the screw holes where I think the PO had tightened them too much.

The big kicker with the intake boots is the inside and outside diameter, have a close look at that picture I posted earlier. They shrink.

The outside diameter has shrunk enough that the clamps really don't clamp, yet the inside diameter is small enough that I needed some rubber grease to get the carbs in.

After all that, they still leak air.

For $US25.01 each from Boulevard Suzuki, I'd just get new ones... cheap as chips!

LOL. If mine looked like your old ones I wouldn't even consider replacing. Thanks for confirming. I was looking more closely at those diagrams. I highly suspected 27 was the intake manifold, as thats where the intake manifold is on the bike. Confusion was caused because the diagram doesn't match what the part physically looks like on the bike. I priced out the manifolds from the airbox and intake manifolds. Looks like it should be about $100 for my 2 cylinder. I'll post some pictures of my old ones when I do this repair.

Yeah, I purchased the replacements before getting a manual or finding this site. Otherwise I wouldn't have either.
The real problem with my bike initially was the igniter was bad. I replaced that and the bike had all new life. I sent you a PM. Look at the top right by your name and take a read. I plan on getting rid of quite a few parts that weren't really completely done yet like my intake boots and the rear brake shoes.
