GS450A stalls at long traffic lights

so i have a stock 83 GS450A, no modifications whatsoever.

New boot orings. Fresh sync. Fresh carb rebuild. set float height. new air box boot clamps. new plugs.

If i catch a long traffic light the bike will sputter and stall, BUT fire right back up like nothing happened. Crusing the bike acts normal, throttle response is great, warms up in 30-60 seconds with the choke on.

    IM stumped.

    any ideas?

Sounds like time to go through all of the electrical checks...

'83 GS550es (didn't like the colours in the 80's, but they've grown on me)

      Hi,

What is the plug color at idle? Let the bike idle for a while. Then turn it off, pull the plugs, and check the color.

Is the automatic clutch dragging too much? Is there an adjustment? Sorry, I don't know much about the 450GA specifics.

      Thank you for your indulgence,

      BassCliff

        Gas cap vent?

Heat from the engine is cutting off the coils or plug caps?

I think a quick charging system check would help.
        Maybe there's a short somewhere

bike only has 2000 miles on it... sat in a heated garage for 28 years.

As far as i know,(im not the primary rider) its only when its "in gear" would that be considered an oil issue? maybe too thick of an oil? im running Rotella synthetic 10w40 as per manual spec.
