    Fuel Problems

Afternoon all, Ive done a search but couldnt find anything relating to this.

I have bought a GSX 550. Starts and runs fine, idles fine and everything....however, if I hit 75-80mph + the bike stalls. As if she has run out of fuel. Looking in the clear screen of the fuel filter, there will be no fuel in there. Put the petcock to prime, itll fill up and will run again. I beleive it is a vaccum fed petcock.

Any suggestions as to what might be causing this? I didnt think it was the carbs due to the fact that it runs out higher up than them.

Thanks in advance, and sorry if this is a duplicate question

My suggestion: ditch the fuel filter, check the petcock, and check the gas tank venting (cap).

Your petcock may be sticking inside. I recommend you take it off and clean it. Also if you have a vacuum gauge, test the vacuum on the line going to the petcock. The hose could be leaking, which would prevent the petcock from opening.
