BS34 Air Jet

I recently bought a Dynojet kit and it states changing from the stock 170 to the 160 air jet will make it leaner. Would not a smaller number air jet indicate a smaller orifice for air thus reducing the air and making the mixture richer? Can one of you carb gurus explain how the pilot circuit works regarding the jet?

I just called Dynojet and they explained what is going on. Going from a 170 to a 160 air jet will make the mixture richer as I thought! The kit they sell covers a wide range of bikes and some come with a stock air pilot jet of 150, so going from a 150 to a 160 will make it leaner. They need to update their documentation!
