Gs 550 fuel screw troubles
I was at a buddies that soon to be a member here. He is a mechanic at Killeen Power Sports and does side jobs at home. Someone brought over her 78(?) 550 that a local shop had worked on and messed up her carbs. They turned the fuel screws so tightly in that ALL FOUR tips are snapped off and jammed in the holes. We can see the ends down in the tower holes. He has tried to use a wire and pins to push themn tips oput of the holes but to no avail. They are really jammed. Any suggestions as to how to get them out and save these carbs??MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
1978 GS 1000 E, 1979 GS 1000 S, 1973 Yamaha TX 750, 1977 Kawasaki KZ 650B1, 1975 Honda GL1000 Goldwing, 1983 CB 650SC Nighthawk, 1972 Honda CB 350K4, 74 Honda CB550
NEVER SNEAK UP ON A SLEEPING DOG..NOT EVEN YOUR OWN.
I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.Tags: None

Hey..what can i say!! I have never broken off a screw in any set of carbs I have ever worked on. Randy inherited the problem from some hack at supposed shop that knew what they were doing. That didnt prove to be the case so Randy took on the task of getting her bike back and running.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
