carb questions from a semi newbi

Hi guyy, Got an 82 gs750e. Cleaned carbs, sync job, sealed airbox, new plugs, and checked valves. Bike runs good up to 1/2 or maybe 3/4 throttle then acts like theres nothing left. doesn't miss just stops building power. it has an aftermarket 4 into 1 exhaust and no other known mods. I'm thinking jetting is off. I've got a set of carbs off of an '81 gs850, never been tore down. If properly prepared could they or their bigger jets help out.
    thanks

Sounds like it's starving for fuel!

What condition was the bike in before you cleaned the carbs?

Did you set your float height correctly?
    Is your petcock working correctly?
Do you have an in-line filter between the tank and carb? if so, remove it
Have you inspected the built in filter on the petcock to see if it's clogged with rust/crud?

    Thanks,
    Dave

      Hi,

Do some plug chops and read the spark plugs to see what the mixture is doing at 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and WOT. Adjust jetting as necessary. Make sure the air intake system is tight with no leaks (sealed airbox, new intake boot O-rings, etc). See the jetting tips on my little website.

      Thank you for your indulgence,
