    Air Box boot replace

Hey i'm trying to replace a boot on the airbox side. how do you get the inside band out without trashing it,or do you always need a new one? This is on my 83 gs 1100 e. Thanks for any help

I'm not sure if it is the same type of ring that my 1000 has. If it is, the ring has a break in it. I simply used a thin flat head to pry it up at the break and grabbed it with a pair of needle nose pliers.

I reused the same ones and they work fine.

Replaced mine not too long ago, those rings bend pretty easily, no break in the ring, prying only bent them, but I had new rings and boots so no biggie. Those boots were as hard as nails, and unlike the GS1000 relatively inexpensive, so it was a no brainer.

Boot, part no. 13881-49021 (revised part number) $8.50,
      Ring, part no. 13885-47030, $3.95

      Got them through Boulevard Suzuki

I got a new airbox boot and a new inside band, how do you install them? I put the boot in but it seems its impossible to get the band in from the back or the front any suggestions ,the band is one piece no split in it, Thanks for all the help.
