    79 mikuni twin carbs

    Hi, i went to cycleorings.com now im confused. My carbs look different than what they show. Does anyone know what model of carb I have or how i can tell?

      If I remember right it's a '79 400... not sure myself but there are others on here that hopefully will know.

      Alternatively your service manual should say also.

      I'd suggest shooting Robert Barr an email as he may already know what the deal is.

        79 gs400 with two mukuni carbs

        Hi, its a 1979 gs400 it has two mikuni carbs on it

          Hrmm. Did they have mechanicals or vacuum? I know most companies didn't fully swap to vacuum til 80 but I've seen a few twins pre80 with vacuum carbs on em.

            I'm guessing that he's not in the US, or at least does not have a US-spec bike.

            In '79, we had the GS425. Even the '77 model year GS400 had CV-type carbs, though, and so did the '79 GS425.
