someone told me that my stock engine will not work well with flatslides or something more than stock in its current form. someone else told me that this is the best way to get power along with my Wolf pipe.

Depends if extra power is needed as that engine provides lots.

I had flatsides on my '83 Kat 1100 with Yosh pipe and notices no increase in top end but easier starting and mid range response. Someone wanted to buy the carb set in a bad way so I went back to the stock carbs, rejetted them and the world is still good.

A set of RS flatslides will wake that beast up. Whoever told you flatslides won't work well on your bike has no clue. When I put a set of 34s on my bike the clutch started slipping from day one because of the extra power.
