    Carb rebuild Kits

I was wondering what is the best carb rebuild kit for my 1980 GS1000. Parts N More kits jump from 1978 to 1981. No 1980, I e-mailed them and the kit they said would work had a float bowl valve and a gasket. I wouldn't call it a rebuild kit. What do you guys and (Gals) use?

      Hi,

Yes, all you need is an O-ring kit from http://cycleorings.com, some new float bowl gaskets, and the Mikuni BS(CV) Carburetor Rebuild Tutorial.

      Thank you for your indulgence,

        I used that stuff

When I rebuilt the carbs I run now. I think I might have some parts worn or missing with these. Thanks

Most of the internal parts do not wear, they just get dirty and crusty with gas varnish and need to be cleaned well... I just did mine, (31 years old) and only needed the bowl gaskets and o-rings.

          ... Bowl gaskets >> http://www.z1enterprises.com/Carb-Fl...Yamaha-47.aspx $14.30 for all four...
          ... O-rings>>> http://www.cycleorings.com/ $14.73 for a complete set....
Get a gallon of carb dip, and follow the steps on this >>> http://www.mtsac.edu/~cliff/storage/...d_Tutorial.pdf

Save yourself a ton of cash...
