Do I have to do anything to the carbs if I switch to pod filters?

    If you change the airbox you will need to rejet - you can't avoid it.

        I don't like the airbox because of its bulk and appearance. I really like the idea of a "bare" bike and have as little plastic on it that I need.

        But with that said, I think I will just keep the airbox on this bike until I have some more experience with carb rebuild and all that.

        Because of exhaust backfire, I'm thinking I need to replace some boots and o-rings, along with the air filter.

        Does anyone recommend any type of filters? or just the OEM

          Pretty sure that those pods will be very difficult to install as you need 54mm.
          Order main jets 1 and 2 sizes larger and see which work best on your bike.
