    Choke won't stay Choked

WHen I pull up the choke on my gs850 it moves back down. It won't stay in place, and the choke doesn't really give enough gas to get it to high rpms. There is resistance to me pulling the choke all the way out. I have it hooked up right. Any suggesting.

For it to stay up, twist it to the right. You can also tighten up the collar on it. If there is a lot of resistance, there is rust in the housing, the cable wires are deteriorating, and it's time to buy a new cable.

      Hi,

You can also adjust the tension by using the jam nut under the choke knob. That way you can get the proper tension and keep the word "CHOKE" aligned properly on the dash.

      Thank you for your indulgence,
