79 GS1000 with CV carbs is this correct

    so this would be an 80 model with factory carbs on it.

      Um, how do I do that? And yes it's a 80.......that was purchased in 79. history is so cornfusing.. The shaft seal is the seal that's on either end of the shaft that holds the butterfly valve. It has a seat in the carb body and prevents air leaking from around the shaft and carb body.

        Can't change the title unfortunately.No real big deal.The seals on the Mikuni's don't seem to go bad often.The butterfly shafts are hard to get out to,very seldom removed here unlike the Kelien(sp) carbs on Honda's

          That is good to know those seals aren't a problem. I am tearing down a set of Hitachi's for my seca and every one of them was bad. What a pain. These are sooooo much easier to work on. Wonder if I can switch the Seca over to Mikunis.
