im gonna need to get schooled on some carb science,

i was under the assumption that the stock jet is a 112.5, this kit goes upto a 105 ?

will this be enough for a cored exhaust, and trumpets ?

I'm pretty sure the stock jets are 80's

There aren't jet kits for the VM carbs because the VMs don't need kits

Just order the jet sizes you want and start tuning

16 main jets with shipping from Z1 are only about $35.00
Spend your money any way that you see fit but, I would just call Z1.

120s should be a good start

                      Raise the needles one notch

                      Then, plug chop time

You may end up with larger jets (including pilot jets) with the velocity stacks

                        Sent Z1 an email,

""The general formula for what you’re describing:

                        +1 on pilot jet
                        +3 on main jet
+1 notch on jet needle (usually one notch up from the bottom notch, thus elevating the needle)

Stock jetting, if a B, C, or EC model, was 15 pilot and 80 main.

                        So get a 17.5 pilot (+1), and an 87.5 main (+3).

Z1 Enterprises specializes in quality Motorcycle parts for Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha Classic Japanese motorcycles from the 1970's and 1980's.

This is a bit problematic, Zach. I don’t stock anything smaller than a 92.5 main jet.

You may want to get all the jets from Sudco – www.Sudco.com or 800-998-3529

                        Their part numbers:
                        #17.5 pilot …… 004-003
                        #87.5 mains ….. 004-163
                        #90 mains…..004-164

                        ""

the #17.5 pilot makes sense, but from #80 to #120 on the main seems excessive?
I am looking to order 4 or so different sizes just would like to specify a range,

                        something of the sort #105-#110-#115-#120?

On a 550 I would leave the pilot jet alone - you can tune that in easily on the fuel and air screws (plus don't forget on the 550s you have that odd 'double pilot jet' arrangement). Raise the needles one notch and about 90 on the mains (maybe 95 to start, erring on rich). That will get you ballpark enough for fine tuning. Anything over 100 on the mains on for the bigger VMs.

Sorry, I went too big - forgot you have a 550.

It might help if you add your bike into your signature

But, a lot of 1000s start with a #95 main and end up at #120, which is +10 jet sizes
