Bandit 1200 carbs?
Has anybody here installed a set of Bandit 1200 carbs on a GS1100? Will the stock boots stretch enough? Anything else?Tags: None

They should fit if you are using pod filters but, the intake tract to the carbs are oval.
IIRC, I got 62mm pods to fit them.
The fuel screws, are EXTREMELY touchy!!!
The plastic float parts are delicate and expensive if you break them. I haven't yet.

I have fit 34CV's onto 32CV manifolds though. I can measure the O.D. of both also later today.
Apparently MCSS sells Mikuni intake manifolds that will fit your application.
My bike, came with the 36mm carbs so the factory boots work on it.
I have not addressed the jetting fun yet as I am waiting to install the Yoshi cans
in place of the stock mufflers first.
From my best experience/educated guesses, I will be jumping the pilots up one size, raising the jet needle about 1.0mm and increasing the main jets from 132's to 145 or 150's.
The stock intake and exhaust are so restrictive that it should REALLY wake this one up!

I'm hoping the jetting will be pretty close. The higher revving Bandit 1200 should not be that far off from an 1100 set up with pipes and pods. We shall see. Sounds like we can compare notes down the road. Ebay carbs were shipped, so hope to have by the weekend.
MCSS is Motorcycle Super Store? I didn't find any special intake boots. Do you have a link?
My thinking was to try the stock 1100 rubbers, use radiator hose if those won't work, and then order the 1150 rubbers as a last resort. I had not thought about the engine side of the carbs being oval. That might make for some transition turbulence if not mated up well. Would hope the rubber boots would deform enough to do that smoothly.
