I wanted to know if the 1982 Katana S exhaust will fit on a 1983 gs1100e? Are they the same?

if you have a true kat exhaust in good shape sell it on ebay (should go for about 1k) and buy 4 gs1100 exhausts with the proceeds.

The cylinder spacing will be the same so the header will fit with no problem but you will have to make new brackets to support the exhaust pipes.

I want to buy the Vance and Hines sidewinder exhaust, but the guy was telling me that it came off of a 82 Katana S. I'm going with the drag bike style.

FYI, the sidewider looks cool but you lose a lot of cornering clearance on you right side.

thought you where talking OEM stuff, yeah header will fit the ports. The back mount might be off a little bit, nothing a grinder a welder and black paint can't fix.
