    Jetting/rebuilding carbs, rebuild kit necessary?

If you rebuild your carbs at the same time as you jet them, would you have to get rebuild kits or could you get away with the DJ Jet Kit, some float bowl gaskets, and o-rings from Robert Barr?

Savings from NOT getting the rebuild kits is ~$80

Definitely forget the rebuild kits. They won't even include all the o-rings you need. You're going to get new jets anyway, and the old ones won't be bad - just dirty. Many times the float bowl gaskets can be re-used. Check the shape of the pilot jet plugs, too.

I ended up having to order some rebuild kits to replace my broken pilot fuel screws. I didn't feel comfortable with just sharpening them, and I actually paid less for the 4 rebuild kits than I would have paid for just the 4 screws.

Otherwise, skip the kits. Also, unless you're adding pods and/or free flowing exhaust, just re-use the stock jets.
