    Crazy person air filter idea

I am expecting to get some ridicule from this, but here it goes...
My bike came with pods and was not rejetted. Would it be crazy to attempt to engineer a pod like airfilter with more resistance? Such as one filled with a thick foam type material? Obviously there is some math in this, but isn't the only difference between the aesthetically challenged air box and pods just the amount resistance for air to pass through?

Me, I would find a stock air box put in back on, though give it a nice paint job.

Stuff I've done to my bike 1100E front end with new Sonic springs, 1100E swing arm conversion with new Progressive shocks installed, 530 sprockets/chain conversion, new SS brake lines, new brake pads. New SS fasteners through out. Rebuilt carbs, new EBC clutch springs and horn installed. New paint. Motor runs strong.

Good info. I'll start looking for an airbox. Dang it.
