    no carb vents?? 83 GS450L

In the parts diagrams, it shows a vent line from one carb. both carbs are linked together via one hose, but mine has nothing but the link hose I see NO WHERE ELSE to place the common vent?? I looks as if it never had any?

Hmmm... the carbs are different on the '83 but I do know on my '82 that there's a T that feeds fuel to both carbs and each carb has an overflow vent with a pipe on it.

Have you got detailed pic's of the carbs at all? Have only seen mine up close...

thanks for the response. I got this bike CHEEP because no one could figure out why gas came running out the carb backs..
I got it figured out! the bike is an '83, but the previous owner or someone must have had problems and bought new/used carbs...probably from an 82. ok heres where the problems all started hahahah. He ended up 'rebuilding the used carbs too, and those carbs each have a port where a vent tube is SUPPOSED to attach and go down . like yours!! two separate vent tubes..
the 83 is SUPPOSED to have one carb with an upper port for the vent line to run up along the frame, and anther port that connects the other carb to the first..
Trouble was, he used the setup for the 83 cabs, which only one carb had a vent line going up to the frame, and both carbs had a link tube between them.
When i got it , the carbs had been re done by many people including a DEALER and as soon as you turned on the gas.. it came out the rear of both carbs, and I saw it was coming out the pilot air hole!!!@#$$. I had a suspicion about the fact that there was NO VENT anywhere , just the two carbs tied together. soon as I took off the link line between both carbs.. WA LA no leak. With no vent, the air had no where to escape when the gas flowed in, and it sought out the next nearest place.. the pilot circuit and since the gas had no way to get into the bowls ( try blowing into a coke bottle..?) the air and gas took the line of least resistance.. into the main and into the pilot circuit and out the carbs backs!
I started the bike , it runs perfectly and charges 14.5 V at 3500 and I'm registering it TOMORROW
The first pic is of the '83. see where the carbs join together and the one on the left has the vent hose? the last pic shows 81 with 2 separate lines.
the way i got it was the carbs on the right but with the #67 vent connector and that was it!!
