    The criteria I always use for exhaust length is the Harley Sportster.

    If you look closely the front cylinder exhaust ends before the pillion passenger and well before the rear axle.

      I really like how that bike looks, Its damn dandy!
      That being said.
      Having the exhaust pointing at my rear tire would make me nervous.
      Not from just the heat point of view either.
      There are a few things that can go wrong that will cause oil to spray out the exhaust.
      Its damn dandy though!
