    low compression

I have a 1980 gs850gt that has 40,000 miles. I get a reading of only 85 lbs. in each cylinder 90 if I add an oz. of oil. Bike runs great , I think that with the CV carbs. the slides are down when its at rest, so even though I'm holding the throttle open and the choke is off as I'm cranking, the slides are down restricting intake hence the low readings.
Do I figure this right, should I be worried?

Worried? No. But you can get higher readings. I get readings of 125+ on mine with CV carbs. Doesn't sound like rings with only +5 PSI. Was that hot?

40k miles, huh? When was the last time you did a valve adjustment?
