I even checked the petcocks vaccum action by blow/sucking. I could hear and feel the diafram opening and closing.

page 21 of the manual on bikecliffs website states the float ht is 26MM or 1.02 inches..but they are showing the VM22 carbs too for a 80 550. Not sure but I remember being told some parts of the manual are wrong. Setting mine to 22.4 and I don't have any leak issues. But, always best to double check things I guess.Cowboy Up or Quit. - Run Free Lou and Rest in Peace

My point of confusion stems from the manual showing the VM22s and not the Cvs...Im not arguing your figure at all. I clicked on both of the 550 manuals on Bikecliffs website too. Parts fiches show the CVs though..see what i mean???MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
