GS1000L headers.. interchange with other models?

Do any other bikes use the same pipe spacing and bolt spacing?
I'm trying to find headers for my 79 GS1000L, but can only find expensive or some are listed for 850 or 1100 bikes.
Can I use headers made for other bikes? Or does the L have something unique about the exhuast ?
    ( I know I will have to re-jet )
    Thanks

The pipe spacing is the same on 750 and up, they may fit a little different somewhere, but nothing you can't work around.

Life is too short to ride an L.

this helped.... but not really. very confused now..
I had read the pipe spacing was same.
But different tube diameters... Different flange spacing...
I think I'll just wait for some pipes that were made for my bike.
