carb help in Minnesota (Twin Cities)

I plan to address the carbs on my GS650GL within the next few weeks, including a dip and rebuild, followed by a sync. Is a sync tool really something I should buy? Is this going to be an annual process? Is there anyone local who might lend their sync tool and maybe some assistance? I have beer...

Here your carb tools...an 8 MM to loosen the jam nut and a flat tip to adjust..once done tighten the jam nut with the same 8 MM.

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.
