    Cleaning GS1000s 1980 rusty fuel tank

    Hi I have a rusty fuel tank, found rust in float chamber, cleaned carb out twice already. Now carbs keep floading, any advice
    It a Wes Cooley replica (How many were build????)

    Hi Jaco, this is a common problem...
    You will have to treat the fuel tank with the proper chemicals to first get the rust out and then to seal the inside.
    The products available vary from one continent to another but you will find many threads on this subject on this forum.

        Hi Mr. Jaco,

        There are a few ways to clean and coat (if necessary) the inside of your fuel tank. Have a look at my little website for a few of the most common.

          I've used Por-15 on two really trashed rusty tanks and it worked great. Just follow the directions and all it well.
