Can bench testing of the carbs be done with water? I don,t have a garage and live in an apartment, not a good place for the gas can.

The only thing you are going to be able to test with water is the float level, but because of the difference in densities between gas and water, even that won't be accurate.
Spare the carbs, keep the water out of them.

You might get a decent idea with rubbing alcohol, don't think it will hurt the carbs.Comment

Think I'll wait. Just replaced all the "O" rings front to back. It is amazing what some mechanics call good work. I will get it running and take it to a friends garage and fine tune the carbs. Gonna try using the old plugs and some taps and tubing to use like a water level. Should be fun or the thing is gonna kill me. I suppose I should post a pic of the beast...Comment
