    RE Carb problem or?

    1982 gs 1000g

I have replaced o rings, & cleaned carbs which has stopped the high reving/fluctuation issue. Now i have low idle issue, idle adjuster only slightly rises revs, now stalls and cuts out, even bogs out with throttle if to fast? Idles 850-900 ish badly. Airbox well sealed.
Do i need to strip down again, as i have only cleaned carbs, not adjusted or done total strip down, due to time constraints ?
    Thanks in advance

You might have to go the deluxe strip and dip- shortcuts often lead to frustration. But, did you bench sync the carbs? When you say " idle adjuster", do you mean idle stop screw or idle air mixture screws on each carb?

Yes i am guilty of doing a quick clean, i needed the bike in a hurry?
I was refering to the idle stop screw, I did not bench sync as i did not completely strip.

If you seperated carbs, you better bench sync- exactly what did you do to carbs? also is this a new to you bike?

Had this bike around four years now, hardly use it, due to other bikes. had replacment carbs with top end rebuild two years ago by shop. so shop maintaned, untill now....

If carbs have been sitting, and with your running symtoms, it's time for the deluxe cleaning. Sprays don't reach the tiny passages where gunk collects- only stripping and dipping has a good shot at it. Have you got Basscliff's welcome yet? no matter, follow this link and note that carb cleaning is stressed right out of the gate.
