    Mixture Screw adjustment

Will turning the mixture screw in (3 turns out to 2 turns out) richen the mixture or make it more lean?

Turning the mixture screw out will richen things up and in will make it leaner. I presume on your 850 as your 750 has an air screw and a fuel screw but no mixture screw

      Hi,

As I understand the CV carbs, the "idle mixture screw" really doesn't control the mixture itself. The mixture (air/fuel ratio) is set by the carb internals. However, the "idle mixture screw" will determine 'how much' of the idle mixture the engine receives at idle. At three turns out the cylinder receives more of the mixture than at two turns out.

      Thank you for your indulgence,

Thanks. The reason for my question is I still have the feeling that I am not quite getting all the acceleration I should be getting in 1-3rd gear. That being said, I haven't ridden a totally stock bike for a long time. My cafe gs750 has a lot of acceleration through all gears. It's exhaust is open and not baffled at all. The gs850 that I'm questioning is my everyday commuter bike. Runs great at highway speeds, but it doesn't seem to have all the power/acceleration that I would expect. This doesn't stop me from riding it nearly daily, but it is a frustration. It does get better when the bike gets warmer, but still is present after warm up.

I've done all the things necessary to make it run well. The ten things, carbs dipped, etc. This problem is not horrible, but still troubles me a bit. I'd like to feel all the power the bike has.

        Thanks for the help.
