    1981 gs550l /gs550t carbs the same?

I gave my nephew a 1981 gs550l a few years back and he didn't take care of it. Got it back and found that it had been sitting for 4 years. Just got word from the shop that the carbs are destroyed and need to be replaced. I found some carbs on ebay for a 81 gs550T and they "look" the same. Just wondering if anyone can confirm that they will fit the L model.

thanks for the help in advance!

Should be identical, there may be a minor difference in some choke linkage or something. Make sure you get your old carbs back from the shop, destroyed is not true unless they hammered them into submission instead of taking them apart carefully... Nothing inside would be irreparable after only four years unless it was in a storage container floating across the Pacific like that Harely. In any case there are valuable parts inside which you may need to fix your replacement carburetors.

Life is too short to ride an L.
