Broke a weld on a corner and my exhaust fell off. Replacement?

I was taking a corner at about 45 and hit a pothole with my exhaust and it cracked an already leaking weld. A couple days later the exhaust completely fell off.

I don't think there is enough metal to reweld it back on, so I am looking for a new exhaust. The junkyard in town didn't have any right side mufflers(Or even complete exhausts) that would be the same fit. They did suggest putting a universal slip on muffler. I'm not sure if that would even work with the center header. And, I'm not sure if they were correct when they said I wouldn't need to rejet.

I would love to go get a new 4-1 header and muffler, but I can't afford the 3-4 hundred for them. Plus the rejetting that goes along with that.

Could I just go the cheapest route right now and get it welded back on? Or maybe the next option of getting universal slipons for the time being?

    Hi,

Sure, pick up some extra muffler pipe, make two clean cuts on your existing exhaust, cut the new muffler pipe to fit, and weld away. It might be a little ugly, but it will be cheap and it will get you riding again. Even good used exhausts are hard to find and usually are not cheap.

    Thank you for your indulgence,

Harley mufflers are a popular fix since they get thrown in the trash with alarming frequency.

As I understand it, new exhaust is hardly worth a rejet. That combined with pods on the other hand...
