Measuring fuel level in my float bowl
I'm going to measure the fuel level in my float bowls using the clear tube method outlined in Mr. Nessism's tutorial on Basscliff's site. He shows a measurement of 2.89 mm. Can someone tell me what the correct range would be for my 1980 GS850G? Also, should I do this w/ the carbs perfectly level on the workbench, or on the bike w/ bike on centerstand? Thanks.Tags: None

Hi,
On page 61 the tutorial says to set the carb rack at the same angle as on the bike. Didn't Mr. Nessism measure the fuel level using a carpenter's level to make sure the carb bowls were level?
Take a level out to your bike and use it on your carbs. Then, on your bench, set the carbs at the same angle when measuring fuel level and adjusting the float height.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff

Thanks, I just saw this in the manual. For some reason I was thinking that this technique was not covered in the manual.
