    Will a 81-82 gs550 exhaust fit my 77' gs550??

    Hello!

First post! I've been lurking on here for a while, and this is a great site!!

    So my question...

I found a great deal on a MAC 4-1 exhaust system. Only issue is, it's made for a 81-82' gs550. I currently ride a 77' gs550, and was wondering if the MAC 4-1 exhaust will work? I understand there may be differences in how the exhaust hangers will correspond to my 77'.

    Any idea?

    Greetings and Salutations!!

    Hi Mr. SpiDmang,

If you're good with a welder and can fabricate a hanger, if necessary, I'm sure you can make it fit. But I have no first hand knowledge either way. Chances are it will be close.

Anyway, let me dump a TON of information on you and share some GS lovin'.

I just stopped by to welcome you to the forum in my own, special way.

Hi babes. Should fit no probs...
Stick it on and fabricate any extra hangers you might need...
      Easy.
      Good luck.

            No, I ride a base model 1977 GS550.

As for the exhaust, the previous owner of the bike also put on pod filters. Do you think I will need a rejet for my carbs?

              Hi,

Any change to intake or exhaust requires jetting changes.
