82' Gs300 Carb jetting for running no mufflers and pods - bike came this way

the bike doesn't have the mufflers and I can't look at spending $100 on the exhaust system if I can get the bike running fine without them. I'm used to riding Harley's so the noise doesn't bother me.

    Thanks,
    Matt

Well, you are going to have to spend a bunch of money on either the exhaust or the carbs to get it to run right, take your choice.

It might not bother you, but it sure does bother some of the rest of us.

On the other hand, as obnoxious as open pipes sound, the thought of open pipes on a 300 is almost amusing.

I got some harley mufflers that need new home- might look good and a lot easier than messing with carbs

          WHAT? haha just kidding.

I'm just trying to get the bike ride-able without spending too much on the bike.
I work at a motorcycle shop so tuning the carbs is cheap or even free since the tools are at my disposal.

Just get some thrown away H-D mufflers from the H-D dealer's dumpster and you will feel at home just like on the H-D.
No, wait a minute, throwing those mufflers away are the first "improvement" that every H-D owner makes.
