82 GS 750T Running like a top now!
Just a note on the creeping idle- it's gone and the new boots did the trick.

Hey bazooka,
I have an 82 T as well and it runs but the idle does tend to creep to about 2k when it gets warm and when cold the throttle tends to bog down at half rev.
You replaced the carb boots and it fixed these issues on your T?
Congrats on getting yours running smoothly!
Thanks!!

First, it's "Badooka" with a D, not "Bazooka" with a Z, but that doesn't really matter.
There is a pretty good chance that the boots are your problem, as well. New ones are less than $15 each.
While you are at this, have you cleaned the carbs and replaced all the o-rings in there?
Also, have you adjusted the valves and synchronized the carbs?
All of these are somewhat IMPORTANT for a smooth-running, reliable bike.

My mistake - Sorry Badooka. Fairly certain that was autocorrect because I just had to change it back from 'bazooka.'
Hey Steve,
Thanks for the feedback! All of these items are on my to-do list. I've read a ton of great info on this forum (other newbies mega welcomes and much more) and have just started completing work to get the bike safe to ride again.
-Caliper rebuild/clean out
-Stainless steel brake lines built and installed
-Rebuilt blinker/horn/headlamp switch housing
-Fixed front brake switch
-new rear shocks (Hagon) should arrive today (originals wouldn't dampen at all)
Carbs and valves are next.
I'm taking this all very slowly as this is my first bike and my first project of this nature. Looking forward to the experience and hopefully being able to share some of my findings/progress with this community.
Thanks again!

And that's yet another reason that I disable any auto-correct, auto-format, auto- just about anything when I install a program.
