    That hole under the pilot jet

    I'm rebuilding a set of gs1100 carbs & when I took them apart I found no hole in the carb body under the pilot jet but it had the rubber carb plugs.

    Shouldn't it have no plugs if there is no hole?
    80 gs1100 16-v ported & polished, 1 mm oversize intake valves, 1150 carbs w/Dynojet stage 3, plus Bandit/gsxr upgrades

    yes it needs the plugs or it will run super rich and foul plugs faster than you can change them.

      how does the pilot jet operate then? With no hole in the carb body & a rubber plug, the pilot jet is essentially blocked off isn't it? Or am I missing something?

        Turn them upside down ,squirt some gumout in the pilot jets, install rubber plugs, and see if anything falls out of main jets when they go right side up.

            So it's ok that it has no hole & a rubber plug?

                Look at the diagram below. Just above the pilot jet's rubber plug is a hole that angles down to the main jet.

                You saying that you don't have that hole?
