    Katana carb issue

    G'Day everyone,
I have just purchased a 82 1100 katana and I am a bit confused about the carby set up. As the bike came to me in a hundred bits I have got it all back together and running accept for it ****ing fuel out of the plastic tee pieces at the back between numbers 1-2 and 3-4 carbs. At the moment the fuel feed from the fuel tap is between 2-3 at the front. I have tryed it with nothing attached to these tee pieces I have tryed them with hoses facing up I have also tryed it with them looped together and that doesnt work. Are they breathers that ran to the original air box ( mine has pods) or are they suposed to be run through another tee piece and used as the main fuel feed to the fuel tap and the line at the front used as the breather?? Any help would be appreciated

ShaneO, it sounds like you put the tees in the wrong holes. There are fuel lines and there are breather lines. Sounds like you have them reversed. For some odd reason they are the same diameter.

The fuel comes into the T connected between carbs 2 and 3.
The fuel then goes through carb 2 straight through to carb 1 by a junction tube.
Same for carb 3 and 4.
The Ts between carb 1&2 and 3&4 are for venting purposes only.

Thanks for the Bikecliff link this has cleared it up. The guy I purchased the bike off pulled the carbs apart to clean them out and he has put the vent tee pieces in line with the fuel line to the tank and put the solid link tubes in place of the vent tees! Easy fix
