Rev high?
Pods with 120 mains. Once cranked it revs straight to 7k rpm, regardless of where pilot air/fuel screw, idle, or throttle is. Wont go any lower. Any suggestions? 82 gs850Tags: None

You have stock exhaust or an aftermarket pipe to go with those pods?
120 mains for pods will be a bit low, but you should be able to get it to idle before you ever need the main jets.
Have you checked the intake boots and their o-rings? They are on Nessism's "newbie list".
If you have recently gone through your carbs (yet another "newbie mistake if you haven't), set your mixture screws to three full turns out from lightly seated. That will give you a decent mixture for starting your tuning. Throttle should be at idle, the idle speed screw should be set to allow proper idle speed, 1050, when fully-warmed up.

re
The screw on the intake boot clamp was holding one of the valves open. New pilot plugs, running at about 90% now. Cylinder 1 seems to be still running a little rich though. Exaust pops when revving fast but for now its a good start.

stupid
The P.O. tried to compensate the awful job he did by only plugging two of the jets. And then raising the needles on every other carb. Made no sense at all.
