    Hard to reach carb vaccum screws

    Is there a trick to this or am I just dumb? I can get to the #1 and #4 adjusters easily but for carb #2 its hidden away under the throttle and choke mounts. Its too tight of a fit to use the sync tool

    Yeah, kind of a pain, I think I rigged a small 8mm wrench for the nut and use a flexible screwdriver for the screw.

      Yeah I broke down and spent 20$ for one of these- makes it a breeze-
      You can actually lock the synch whilst tightening the nut.

          Remove the choke mount for the carb synch as you really won't need it once the bike is warmed up properly first anyway.

            I have a long extension for an 8mm nutdriver that I use. I will loosen the locknut with the engine OFF by cranking the throttle about half-way, then reaching from behind the top of the airbox with my long nutdriver.

            The actual adjustment is not much of a problem, but locking it back down gets a bit tricky. I will get the sync set, then turn the engine OFF, rotate the throttle so I can reach the locknut with my nutdriver, then check the sync again. It usually moves a bit, so I have to note where it is, re-loosen the locknut, make a small adjustment to the screw, lock it down, re-check the sync. I usually have to do this 2 or 3 times to get it right.

            I have an idea for changing this process, but need to get home to try it out.

              On my 750T frame I have to come at it from the front instead on straight down-
              on #3.

                Hi,

                I use the carb tool. The tank has to be off. I don't have to remove the choke assembly. But I do have to loosen it so that it moves out of the way a bit. It is kind of tricky reaching down through the frame to get to the #2 vacuum adjustment, but it can be done.

                  Thanks Steve, I was able to get the locknut loose after turning the throttle so I could get to it easier. The carbs are all synced up and idle screws set, it idles and runs like a dream. When the bigger mains it really revs now I can't wait to go for a test ride.

                    Yep, you might have to fiddle with the final position a few times when locking it down, but I found it MUCH easier to rotate the throttle.
