    o ring?

i have a full o ring kit that has several sizes do i need special o rings for the carbs or can i just use the ones i have in my kit

yes you can use the ones in your kit. a lot of people on the site may disagree and share their own comments soon but i have been using normal off the shelf orings on bikes and cars for 30 odd years and never had a problem. i just smear them with silicone grease before fitting.

You can use common nitrile or viton O-rings, but make sure the sizes are correct for the application. I've made my own O-ring kits before and can tell you that you won't find all the proper sizes in a generic O-ring assortment or at an auto parts store.

The carb rebuild tutorial linked in my signature details the proper sizes for the BS/CV carbs. The VM's are different, I have some info on those too...somewhere.

i got the kit from my father in law so yea i hate to spend any money if i dont have to i know they are cheap so is just about every other common maintenance parts but if you ad up every thing i need its not within my budget.... you guys say 30 years of maintenance i say rebuilding the bike from the frame up 1 part at a` time

          Go for it

Fortunately, you don't need to depend on it to get you back to earth from the moon. If you're happy with the way it runs, nothing else matters....but, since taking the carbs off and putting them back on isn't the ideal way to spend an afternoon, I'd be tempted to use the best stuff I could find.
