I live north of the 56 parallel with no stores in town period. We have a grocery and a gas station.

LOL yep for now. I'll let you guys know how it works, if I need to rebuild the rebuild, I will order and use the carb dip.

Mineral spirits is varsol. Not very effective. Lacquer thinners will eat the deposits though, just keep checking them every couple of hours.

Acetone makes a great carb dip. It's what we used on old Holley's back in the days befor carb dip. Eats gaskets and anything else that's on them...

If only you could still buy carbon tet. Nasty stuff though. I still have about a cup of it around here that I'm hanging onto.

For you guys advocating chemicals even harsher than carb dip, remember than the CV type GS carbs have rubber seals on the throttle shafts. It's always best to minimize the time you soak carbs for this reason.
