Spring on choke shaft
Ok, I know I had one when I took my carbs apart but now I can't find it anywhere. And of course you can't order it new. Anyone by chance happen to have one lying around they don't need? Any thoughts in case no one has one? I tried stacking some from ball point pens but the shaft is bigger than the spring.

Ha, mother GS Resource must have heard my plight and decided to throw some luck my way as just a moment ago I was out in the garage and sure enough there was the missing spring hanging from a hook on the peg board! Sweet!
Now, on to continuing the carb assembly!1982 GS550M Rebuilt Winter '12 - 550 to 673cc engine conversion.

It is a good thing to be ahead of yourself and place it in a safe location.
Remembering that you did it is sometimes the hard part.

A suggestion for keeping parts organized on the bench: disposable muffin tins.
99 cents for a pair of them at the dollar store.
