Ok, well I emailed them the link to the carb kits I found (4 for $49). They were aftermarket, despite the fact that they told me there were no such options. When they looked at what I found, they admitted they were wrong and agreed to match the price I found. So, in the end I paid the $50 I hoped to pay. I picked the bike up on Monday and have rode it a fair amount since then. So far, no problems. I did switch bikes with my noob buddy, and he did drop it and bend the clutch lever, but that's a whole different story. I think he felt embarrassed enough about not being able to pick it up and needing me to do it for him that I didn't raz him too bad about it. I was able to loosen the lever/mirror bracket and reposition it enough that it doesn't really bother me, so all is well. Thanks for all your suggestions and offers of help, but so far I think I'm good!

Lets hope you're out of the weeds now and all is good.
I don't think I'd let my friend ride it again anytime soon.
