    Slight bog

Quick question. On my 83 GS450 with stock pipes and pods I have rejetted. Started at 115, moved to 120 seemed lean, moved up to 122.5.

When I start the bike it takes a min or so before i can twist the throttle quickly and not have it bog or die. If i sloooowly twist the throttle it seems to catch up and is ok. After the initial warm up I can crank the throttle and it rarely if ever wants to bo or die out.

Am I rich? lean? should I try to adjust the air/fuel mix at the screws? if so which way and how much?

The good news is with the new boots and o-rings my floating idle is gone and it has a fairly quick return back to idle. It doesn't seem to be catching anywhere. I haven't had the opportunity to truely put the bike under a load and do plug chops etc yet. I am still waiting on my seat.

    Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like you need some choke

It will typically take a minute or two on choke before she's up to temperature enough to idle properly.

Experience tells me another 5 minutes of riding before she's warmed up enough to accurately set idle and sync. carbs etc.

Don't make any adjustments to mixture screws or idle until she's nice and warm, otherwise you will be way off.
