    1978 GS 750: Expected MPG?

What should I be seeing for MPG on this bike? Check out my pic -- I believe those are aftermarket pipes, but beyond that I think it's stock.

Depends on your riding habits and fuel, somewhere mid-high 40s to low 50s mpg cruising at moderate speeds (60ish), less at higher speeds. Around town in the forties, if you are a speed crazed throttle junky a lot less.

I got close to 60mpg from mine before adding the 850 top end. Our gallon is a little bigger than yours tho.

50 -60 taking it steady / touring. Less than 30 if you give it some beans.

        British gallon.

Perhaps I should ease off the throttle a bit... Just had the carbs done and the valves rebuilt and I'm getting about 35. I'm a little nuts though...

At least do one tank cruising easily, so you can determine if there is a problem with your bike causing it to use too much fuel... Then go back to thrashing it.

56 mpg if you actually keep at those ridiculously slow suggested speeds.
              48 at 10 over, 38 at 20 over.
33-35 if you are just crazy.

Pick somewhere in the middle and ride happy!
