Getting a stripped airboot screw out?

Whats the best way to get a stripped air boot screw out? A screw out bit? Thanks!

Ok! I've tried searching, but i can't find any results. Like "stripped airboot screw" rendered nothing, and anything else is for internal carb screws.

Can you remove the other screw? If you can, tap the boot counter-clockwise, the friction will break the stripped screw free. You can then probably use a good screwdriver on it to get enough of a bite to remove it.

If that doesn't work, see if you can use a Dremel with a cut-off wheel or a hacksaw to put a slot in the screw head then remove it with a straight screwdriver.

well, the right middle boot is still tight, and has gotten blocked by the block, and it cant go any farther. The left middle boot, is loose, but i cant get the screw out. And i broke my cutoff disc. Ahh! Its so frustrating!

Use vice grips on the outer screw and crack them loose and remove, then spin the boot to crack loose the inner screws. Failing that, you can take a sharp chisel and use a glancing blow on the edge of the screw to get them to turn.

Normally, the proper method is using an impact driver. A long extension on the impact helps get the proper clearance to give the thing a whack.

Both the outer screws on the boots are off. Ive tried using the impact driver, but with nothing to grab, it just makes it worse.

Did you try to spin the entire boot to get the inner screws to turn?

On the left boot, ive gotten it loose, but i cant turn it 360 degrees. Same with the right other than its not quite loose.

those bastards are made out of butter! i hit as stuck one with a chisel to loosen it and turned it with vice grips.

I had that issue with my old boots. I took a blade and cut the rubber off so just the metal base was left, then clamped on some vice grips and cranked 'er out. Damn soft screws. SS hardware from here on out!

Well, i was able to get the left boot screw out with the air chisel. It was enough to "vibrate" it out to where i could get it with vise grips. The right one on the other hand wont budge.
