    Jets for GS750T with exhaust

I have a 1982 gs750t I am going to buy the V&H exhaust for. Its all stock now and im sure I will need to re-jet it.

Im wondering If i can get buy with just larger mains and or pilots. I see stage 1 jet kits for 110 bucks but i think that might be overkill...

also, where can I buy jets for it? im not sure what kind of jets even go on it.

sorry i tried to search, found info on jet sizes etc.. but now where to buy them without buying an actual jet kit.

Z1 for all your carb jets and bit's and pieces, and there's a thread in the carb section that will have your carb details, should be a sticky in the first few threads.

For a pipe only with stock exhaust, you may want to start with one size or one and a half sizes larger main jets than the stock size. Maybe a little more. It usually doesn't take a lot. You will likely want to shim the jet needles too.
Probably you don't need any pilot jet change, but it might. You will of course need to do a lot of tuning and testing.

Replacing the air box with pods is what takes the big jetting change.

Z1 is the place for jets.

        Greetings and Salutations!!

        Hi Mr. dan4011,

Yes, the general consensus is that an exhaust-only modification will not take drastic jetting changes, perhaps only one or two sizes up on the mains. But testing and tuning are still necessary to be sure all carb circuits are delivering the right amount of fuel at all throttle openings. You'll find procedures on my website, i.e. "plug chops", and a link to the Factory Pro procedure for CV carbs, on the Carb Specs page of my little website.

The good thing about the stage 1 jet kit is that you get the slotted needles which make tuning the midrange much easier, no need to mess with shims or washers to raise the needles.

And just in case you missed it, let me share the "mega-welcome": New Members, CLICK HERE!! I hope those links answer most of your everyday, common maintenance questions. Welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately, we here in the States are not as fortunate.

The EPA thought us unworthy to properly tune our motorcycles. Very few U.S. imports got the slotted needles, only '79 and earlier, on the VM carbs (IIRC).

My GSX750 has the same engine. She's got the standard airbox fitted and a Marshall Deeptone 4-1. She runs spot on with the standard jets, I just tweaked the mixture screws.

As Tom says, it's messing with the airbox that means loads of fiddling around.
