Fully replace with new intake boots or...
So, When I got my carbs out (still looking for a new set ) the intake boots came off with it. My question is should I buy a full brand new set of intake manifold, clamps, boots, and orings (like this) or just new boots? When I look on Boulevard I can't really tell if the part number is just the rubber boot or includes the metal part that actually attaches to the cylinder head (It probably does, I am just making sure since I cannot tell). If it does, I'll just order it off Boulevard because that is cheaper. Here is what I'm talking about on Boulevard. The parts in question are numbers 20/21(also do I need 2 RH/2LH? most likely just making it clear for myself). I know I need the o-rings, that is not an issue just simply if it is the WHOLE assembly of the intake.Tags: None

The boot comes as one big rubber piece with the aluminum base embedded in it. You'll need 2 left and 2 right ones. If you have the clamps still just reuse those, but I'd pick up the stainless bolt kit from cycleorings though to get rid of those stupid phillips heads.

Thanks guys just wanted to make sure before I spend over $100 on this stuff I was already planning on getting the stainless bolts from Mr. Barr as well as the o-ring kit as well as boot o-rings. Now I need to go and get the old intake boots off and clean...
Thanks again!

Just to add to the guys info, yes , two left , two right....(you will notice on good parts fisches they pre fill in the required quantity per part). Get those from Boulevard , like you said.
Then from cycleorings.com, get the pack of four intake boot o rings, and the set of 8 stainless steel intake boot screws. Put them in with never seize.
I am finding quickly that shoddy boots, wether airbox side or engine side will cause you greif. Hard to get them on, hard to seal, and we end up with leaks that make the bike run poorly.
Bite the bullett , spend the money, be happy

My best method for getting those 8 phillips screws out is to just use needle nose vice grips. The screw heads are thick enough to get a great bite. At least on my 650 I can get a good grip on 6 of the 8, the other 2 are sort of blocked. But once you get one out, use the boot or metal base to work it back and forth and it will eventually loosen the screw a bit.
Lots of penetrating oil and patience to let it work before you attack!

An impact driver makes things sooo much easier, its only ~$15 at a car parts store. Totally worth it with all the phillips heads on these bikes.

Hi,
Intake boots, intake O-rings, and clamps added up to $121.52 at Boulevard Suzuki or $119.56 from G&S Suzuki. I don't know what tax and shipping would be. I'm just shopping around a bit.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
