Fuel in petcock vacuum line

The following IS NOT a slam at Z1...but i bought 2 kits for the GS 1000 at the same time. I cleaned up the insides of the petcock and the area the oring on the diaphram sits was smooth and shiney as new. neither kit would seal and gas INSTANTLY porued out from the petcock like it was set on prime..but it wasnt. I even tried a slightly smaller thickness oring thinking that would seat better but that wasnt the fix either. Anyone remember my thread on this??? Neither kit worked so they both went in the trash and it was a waste of time and money far as i was concerned and another one will never be bought by me. I wound up buying a good 750 one from a member here and thats whats on the bike now...without issues.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

They are exactly the same as the 1000s except the angles the fuel and vac nipples are at. A 750 will direct bolt to a 78 1000. Dont know about your 850 though.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
