GS450 Carbs

Does anyone know if the gs450 carbs are interchangable as long as the size/ fit is the same?

Hi and welcome... do you just mean 450 carbs from different years?

The 80 - 82 models are the same and they changed in 83. I'm sure I've seen someone on here put 83 or later carbs on an 80 - 82 model successfully.

I'm unsure if any jetting changes were required but if your intake and exhaust are stock I'd run with stock jetting and go from there.

I also have a feeling someone has put GS500 carbs on a 450 as well...

Thanks for your input Pete, yes the carb I think is from a 1986 SZ model. My bike is 1981 gs450S, the size of the carbs are just about identical.

GS450 Carbs

Thanks, all parts are original spec. It took 12 months of searching before I found an original front cowling. Don't think there are many left on the planet!
